Anasarca

Severe, generalized edema characterized by massive accumulation of serous fluid in the subcutaneous connective tissues and often body cavities, producing diffuse, nonlocalized, pitting swelling of virtually the entire body.

  • Advanced cardiac failure

  • Renal failure

  • Hepatic failure

  • Severe allergic reaction

  • Profound hypoalbuminemia
