An unpleasant abnormal sensation (burning, prickling, stinging) due to impaired somatosensory processing that may be spontaneous or stimulus-evoked.

Causes

• Peripheral neuropathy

• Multiple sclerosis

• Carpal tunnel syndrome

• Herniated disc

• Herpes zoster

• Stroke

• Medications: Chemotherapy
