Increased levels of fecal calprotectin, a neutrophil-derived protein measured in stool, indicating active intestinal mucosal inflammation.

• Normal: ≤50 μg/g

• Borderline: 51-250 μg/g

• High: >250 μg/g

• Inflammatory gastrointestinal disorders

  • Crohn's disease

  • Ulcerative colitis

  • Diverticulitis

  • Celiac disease

  • Other causes of intestinal mucosal injury or inflammation

• Gastrointestinal infections

  • Salmonella

  • Campylobacter

  • Clostridioides difficile

  • Giardia

  • Norovirus

  • Rotavirus

• Colorectal cancer

• Medications: NSAIDs, PPIs

• Intestinal dysbiosis
