Erythroplakia
A well-demarcated, flat, velvety red lesion of the oral mucosa, not attributable to traumatic, vascular, or inflammatory causes, regarded as an oral potentially malignant (often severely dysplastic or carcinoma in situ) epithelial disorder. Possible causes are tobacco smoking, alcohol consumption, chronic irritation, vitamins A/B/C deficiency, viral infection, and genetic predisposition.
