High voltage QRS

ECG pattern characterized by abnormally increased QRS complex amplitude, typically exceeding standard voltage criteria in limb and/or precordial leads.

Causes

  • Cardiac structural causes

    • Left ventricular hypertrophy due to long-term hypertension

    • Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

    • Athletic heart syndrome with physiological cardiac remodeling

  • Electrical conduction disorders: Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome

  • Low body mass index

  • Incorrect ECG lead placement
