Leukoplakia

Well-defined, white or gray non-scrapable plaques on the mucous membranes (often oral). Usually benign, but can be precancerous. Possible causes are tobacco (smoking, chewing), mechanical trauma (improper fillings, poorly fitted dentures), chronic cheek/lip biting, alcohol consumption, and virus infection (EBV).
