Tenosynovitis
Inflammation of a tendon sheath, specifically involving the synovial lining and its fluid, typically presenting with localized pain, swelling, and impaired tendon gliding or motion. Possible causes are repetitive overuse, autoimmune disease (rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis), diabetes, gout (crystal deposits), thyroid disorder, and bacterial infection (animal bites, thorn pricks, contaminated cuts).
