Cholelithiasis

The formation and presence of gallstones within the gallbladder or biliary tract, characterized by calculi composed typically of cholesterol, pigment, or mixed material, which may remain asymptomatic or cause biliary colic and related complications.

  • Excess cholesterol

  • Excess bilirubin

  • Gallbladder stasis promoting crystal formation
