Decreased PTH

Abnormally low parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels below the normal reference range (2.7–11.1 pmol/L), leading to impaired calcium-phosphate homeostasis.

Causes

  • Hypoparathyroidism

  • Surgery: Parathyroidectomy

  • Autoimmune parathyroid disease

  • DiGeorge syndrome

  • Radiotherapy

  • Magnesium imbalance
