An increased concentration of follicle-stimulating hormone above the reference range:

• Normal female: 3.0 - 10.0 mIU/mL

• Borderline high female: 10.0 - 15.0 mIU/mL

• Elevated female: >15.0 mIU/mL

• Menopausal range: 25.8 - 134.8 mIU/mL

• Normal adult male range: 1.5 - 12.4 mIU/mL

• Menopause

• Primary ovarian insufficiency

• Diminished ovarian reserve
