Symptom
Hand drop
The inability to actively extend the wrist and fingers due to paresis or paralysis of the wrist and digital extensor muscles, typically from radial nerve palsy. Possible causes are compression/entrapment, trauma, shoulder dislocation, lead poisoning, alcohol intoxication leading to deep sleep, and peripheral neuropathy (diabetes, Guillain-Barré syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis).
