Hepatitis
Inflammation of the liver characterized by hepatocellular injury with variable necrosis, cholestasis, and potential progression to fibrosis, cirrhosis, or hepatic failure. Possible causes include viral infection, toxins (acetaminophen), drugs (alcohol), autoimmune hepatitis, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, or rare genetic conditions (Wilson's disease or hemochromatosis).
