HLA-B27

A class I human leukocyte antigen encoded within the MHC on chromosome 6; its presence on leukocytes is strongly associated with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions where the body attacks its own joints (reactive arthritis), spine (ankylosing spondylitis), and eyes (iritis).
