Hoffman's sign

A neurological test where a doctor flicks the middle finger, causing the thumb and index finger to involuntarily twitch or flex, suggesting corticospinal tract dysfunction. Possible causes are cervical cord compression, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, vitamin B12 deficiency, hyperthyroidism, and anxiety.
