Hoover's sign

The involuntary extension of the weak leg at the hip when a patient is asked to flex the contralateral hip against resistance. The presence of normal involuntary hip extension despite apparent voluntary weakness suggests preserved motor pathways and may indicate functional neurological weakness (functional limb weakness).
