Hypoesthesia

Partial or total loss of cutaneous sensibility, including impaired perception of tactile, pain, temperature, or vibratory stimuli due to dysfunction of peripheral or central sensory pathways. Possible causes are nerve compression (herniated disk, carpal tunnel syndrome, saturday night palsy), neurological disorders (multiple sclerosis, stroke), diabetic neuropathy, peripheral artery disease), kidney failure, vitamin B1/B6/B12 deficiency, neurotoxicity (chemotherapy, alcohol), infections (shingles, Lyme disease, leprosy), and trauma (frostbite, burns, physical injuries).
