Macrocytosis
An increased erythrocyte size defined by an elevated mean corpuscular volume (MCV > 100 fL). Possible causes are nutritional deficiency (vitamin B12 or folate), alcohol use, liver disease, medications (HIV treatment, chemotherapy, seizure medications), megaloblastic anemia, hypothyroidism, and rapid blood cell production.
