Saddle nose deformity

A collapse and depression of the nasal dorsum, typically due to loss of septal and/or upper lateral cartilage support, resulting in reduced nasal height and a characteristic saddle-shaped nasal profile. May cause breathing difficulties, pain, or cosmetic concerns. Possible causes are nasal fracture, septal hematoma, iatrogenic (over-aggressive rhinoplasty), intranasal drug abuse (cocaine causes vasoconstriction), granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener's granulomatosis), relapsing autoimmune polychondritis, and infections (syphilis, leprosy).
