Sclerotic bone lesion

Focal or diffuse area of increased bone density characterized radiographically by radiodense, hardened, or thickened bone matrix relative to adjacent normal bone. Possible causes are increased bone formation (enostoses, callus due to healing fracture, osteomyelitis, osteoid osteoma), or malignancy (metastatic cancer, lymphoma, osteosclerotic myeloma), Paget's disease, sickle cell disease, and fluorosis.
