Subarachnoid blood

Presence of extravasated blood within the subarachnoid space between the arachnoid and pia mater, as visualized on neuroimaging or detected in cerebrospinal fluid. Typically due to subarachnoid hemorrhage from ruptured intracranial vessels, trauma, AV malformation, anticoagulation, or drugs (cocaine, methamphetamine).
