Trismus

Persistent, involuntary restriction in the ability to open the mouth due to a spasm or contraction of the chewing muscles. Associated with tetanus, dental surgery, pericoronitis, tooth abscess, tonsillitis, peritonsillar abscess, salivary gland infection, fracture (jawbone, cheekbone, temporomandibular joint), temporomandibular joint disorder, and radiotherapy.
