Varicocele

Abnormal varicose dilatation of the pampiniform venous plexus within the spermatic cord, typically in the scrotum, producing a soft, compressible scrotal mass and potentially impairing testicular function and spermatogenesis. Possible causes are testicular vein valve incompetence, left testicular vein compression, nutcracker phenomenon, tumor, blood clot, or deep vein thrombosis.
