Flatulence
Excessive accumulation and expulsion of intestinal gas through the anus, often accompanied by abdominal distension, discomfort, or borborygmi. Possible causes are aerophagia (eating/drinking too fast, smoking), diet (complex carbohydrates in beans, broccoli, cabbage), artificial sweeteners (sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol), food intolerance (lactose, fructose), and GI conditions (irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, constipation).
