Hydroureter

An abnormal dilatation and distension of the ureter with urine, typically resulting from obstruction to urinary outflow between the renal pelvis and the bladder, often associated with hydronephrosis. Possible causes are urolithiasis, benign prostate hyperplasia, pregnancy, malignancy (bladder, uterus, prostate), vesicoureteral reflux, strictures, scarring, and congenital defects.
