Post-nasal drip

Excessive mucus production by the nasal mucosa resulting in accumulation of excess mucus in the back of the nose and throat, causing the uncomfortable sensation of drainage, a constant urge to clear the throat, or a tickle. Associated with allergic rhinitis (pollen, dust, pet dander), sinusitis, common cold, influenza, dry air, smoke, acid reflux, medications (antihypertensive, oral contraceptive), or deviated septum.
