Antibiotics

Pharmacologic agents that inhibit growth or induce death of bacteria, used systemically or topically for prophylaxis or treatment of bacterial infections; they may be natural, semi-synthetic, or synthetic antibacterial compounds acting via diverse molecular targets.

  • Penicillins: Amoxicillin, Ampicillin

  • Cephalosporins: Cephalexin, Cefuroxime

  • Macrolides: Azithromycin, Erythromycin
