Obesity

An excessive accumulation and storage of body fat (BMI ≥ 30), associated with increased cardiometabolic, mechanical, and psychosocial morbidity and mortality. The most common cause is imbalance between caloric intake and energy expenditure. Other possible factors include hpothyroidism, Cushing's syndrome, PCOS, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, medications (antidepressants, antipsychotics, steroids, hormonal birth control, antihypertensive, diabetes treatment), genetics, prolonged stress and poor sleep schedules.
