Tracheal deviation

Abnormal displacement of the trachea from its normal midline position in the neck or upper mediastinum toward or away from one hemithorax, typically reflecting asymmetric intrathoracic or cervical pressure or volume pathology. Possible causes are tension pneumothorax, pleural effusion, goiter/thyroid enlargement, tumor (mediastinal lymphoma), atelectasis, pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonectomy, and tuberculosis scarring.
