Virchow's node

An pathological enlarged left supraclavicular lymph node, classically hard and non-tender, as a sentinel site of metastatic spread from intra-abdominal or intrathoracic malignancies. Possible causes are cancers (gastric, pancreatic, colorectal, esophageal, gallbladder, liver, ovarian, testicular, kidney, lung, breast, lymphoma), or infection/inflammation (tuberculosis, syphilis, erysipelas of the left arm, sarcoidosis).
