Anisocoria

An inequality in the size of the pupils of the eyes, unilateral or bilateral, resulting from disturbed efferent pupillary pathways or iris pathology.

Causes

  • Physiologic

  • Neurologic: Horner syndrome, Adie's tonic pupil, brain hemorrhage, stroke, carotid or vertebral artery dissection, increased intracranial pressure

  • Pharmacologic

  • Structural ocular disease: uveitis, galucoma, eye trauma
