Anuria

The absence or severe reduction of urinary excretion, defined as urine output less than about 100 mL per 24 hours, reflecting profound impairment of renal function.

Causes

  • Prerenal: Dehydration, shock, hemorrhage, heart failure, ACE inhibitors

  • Renal: Acute tubular necrosis, lupus, vasculitis, or glomerulonephritis

  • Postrenal: Kidney stones, BPH, prostate cancer
