Elevated BNP

An abnormally increased concentration of B-type (brain) natriuretic peptide (BNP) above the reference range (<100 pg/mL), reflecting increased ventricular cardiomyocyte release in response to myocardial wall stress, pressure overload, or volume overload, and serving as a biomarker of cardiac dysfunction.

    • Arrhythmia

    • Valvular heart disease

  • Kidney failure

  • Pulmonary embolism

  • Pulmonary hypertension

  • Hyperthyroidism

  • Sepsis
