Pathologic fracture

A broken bone that occurs with minimal or no trauma due to structurally weakened bone. Possible causes are osteoporosis, neoplasm, osteomyelitis, metabolic bone disease (osteogenesis imperfecta, Paget's disease, osteomalacia), hyperthyroidism, and corticosteroids.
