Vascular murmur

An auscultatory whooshing or blowing sound produced by turbulent blood flow within an artery or vein, distinct from valvular heart sounds. It typically reflects increased blood-flow velocity through a narrowed or abnormal vessel.

• High-output states

  • Anemia

  • Hyperthyroidism
