Decreased Blood Urea Nitrogen

A reduction of circulating urea nitrogen concentration below 7 mg/dL.

Causes

  • Low-protein diet

  • Malnutrition

  • Overhydration / SIADH (dilutional effect)

  • Pregnancy

  • Liver dysfunction with reduced hepatic urea synthesis
