Symptom

Poor skin turgor

Decreased elastic recoil of the skin, such that when a skin fold is pinched and released it returns slowly to its normal contour. Typically reflecting dehydration, reduced interstitial fluid volume, rapid weight loss, skin disorders (scleroderma, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome), natural aging, and malnutrition (protein, vitamin C, zinc).
