Tremor

An involuntary, rhythmic, oscillatory muscle contraction that causes shaking in one or more body parts, classified by activation condition, topography, and frequency. Possible neurological causes are Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, multiple sclerosis, and stroke. Medical conditions include alcohol detox, hyperthyroidism, liver/kidney failure, medications (β-agonist, corticosteroids, psychiatric drugs), and toxins (heavy metal poisoning such as mercury or lead). Physiological factors include stress, anxiety, muscle fatigue, caffeine, and hypoglycemia.
