Epistaxis

Hemorrhage from the nasal cavity, typically originating from the vascular plexuses of the nasal septum or posterior nasal mucosa, and may range from mild anterior bleeding to severe posterior bleeding with risk of airway compromise. Possible causes are nose picking, trauma, foreign body, irritant exposure, dry/cold air, high altitudes, medications (warfarin, NSAIDs, aspirin), allergies, sinusitis, hypertension, bleeding disorder, thrombocytopenia, vascular abnormalities, and cocaine.
